Sudan, Djibouti Leaders Arrive in Addis to Attend IGAD Summit

Addis Ababa Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh have arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon to attend the 33th Extraordinary Summit of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The leaders of IGAD member states are expected to discuss South Sudan peace deal and Eritrea's return to the bloc.

The current chairperson of IGAD, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, will preside over the meeting.

Meanwhile, IGAD Council of Ministers has concluded its 65th Extraordinary Session today.

Early this morning, South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and Somalia's President Mohamed Abdullahi arrived at Bole International Airport.

It is to be recalled that the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government held the 32nd Extraordinary Summit on 21st June 2018 in South Sudan.
