Spokesperson Mr. Nebiat Addresses Media on Current Developments

Mr. Nebiat also stated that H.E President Emmanuel Macron's two-day

state visit highlights the growing ties between Ethiopia and France both

on bilateral and regional issues of mutual benefits to the peoples of

the two countries. President Emmanuel Macron's visit to the Rock-Hewn

churches of Lalibela and France's commitment to support Ethiopia's

historical relics with stipulates the strengthening of Ethio- France

relations to new heights, added the spokesperson. France have agreed to

provide 100 million Euros to help the country's economic transition.

Regarding the 6th Ethio-Tunisia Joint Ministerial Commission meeting

that kicked-off in Tunis on Thursday (March 14), the spokesperson

related the signing of cooperation agreements on a wide range of areas

including tourism, culture, women affairs and capacity building.

The spokesperson mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in

collaboration with IOM and other stakeholders has facilitated the

repatriation of over 447 Ethiopian nationals from the Kingdom of Saudi

Arabia this week, in addition to ongoing repatriation efforts of 1800

Ethiopians from the Kingdom starting March 13, 2019.

He further

noted that MFA in close collaboration with the Government of Tanzania

facilitated the release of 50 nations from different prisons in

Tanzania; further adding negotiations are underway for the release of

over 450 nationals from Tanzania.

Mr. Nebiat on a final note

stated that an Ethio-France Business Forum comprising more than 26

well-known French companies will commence today at Hilton Hotels, Addis

Ababa to discuss with their Ethiopian business counterparts and explore

investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
