Japan Awards Arkebe Oqubay for Outstanding Contribution to Ethiopia’s Industrial Dev’t

Addis Ababa Japan has conferred upon Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, Arkebe Oqubay, the country's highest Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star.

The order is awarded to those who have made distinguished achievements in international relations, promotion of Japanese culture, advancements in their field, development in welfare or preservation of the environment, it was learned.

Arkebe received the order for his outstanding contribution to industrial development of Ethiopia and consolidation of the economic ties between Ethiopia and Japan, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Special Adviser to the Prime Minister was decorated the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star medal by Emperor Tsugu Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at a special event held on November 5, 2018.
