ETHIOPIAN, TURKISH NEWS AGENCIES SIGN CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT

ADDIS ABABA, May 14 — The Turkish news agency, Anadolu, and the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) have signed a co-operation agreement to enable them to work together.

The agreement was signed here Tuesday by ENA Director Ato Bekele Muleta and Anadolu Director-General Kemal Ozturk.

Ozturk said his agency was ready to work in collaboration with the ENA in different sectors. The agreement covers co-operation in capacity-building, new technology and training as well as exchange of photos, news, video and other information.

The agreement will further strengthen the all-round relations of Ethiopia and Turkey, according to the Director-General.

Ozturk, who stated that his news agency disseminated news in various languages in different countries, said the two institutions would collaborate in ways of producing and distributing news in different languages.

Ato Bekele said the agreement would enable the ENA to get technical assistance and exchange experiences.
He stated that the agreement to exchange information would give the institutions added capability.

The delegation led by the Director-General of Anadolu also visited the Ethiopian News Agency.
Anadolu news agency recently opened its Eastern Africa branch in Addis Ababa.
