Ethiopia Desirous to Have More Vietnamese Investors

Addis Ababa Ethiopia has said it is ready to welcome more Vietnamese companies and entrepreneurs in trade and manufacturing areas with attractive incentives.

A business delegation comprised of 50 business persons held a discussion with Ethiopian officials about the potential investment areas and opportunities in Ethiopia.

Speaking at the discussion Ethiopia Foreign Affairs State Minister, Professor Afwork Kassu said that Ethiopia will offer attractive incentives to companies particularly in priority areas.

Manufacturing industries, textiles and garment, renewable energy, construction as well as agro-processing sectors are among the areas with attractive incentives.

The state minister highlighted that the delegation has come at the right time, which Ethiopia is under reform and steadfastly work to meet demands.

Noting that conducive business environment, sound economic policy, macro-economic stability, and sizable market are important for investors, the state minister asserted that Ethiopia is an attractive place in all perspectives.

Ethiopia has made a meaningful stride in becoming an attractive place to do business in the African continent with expanding infrastructure such as industrial parks, railway, energy and road networks, he indicated.

On his part Vietnam's Minster of Planning and Industry, Nguyen Chi Dung said Ethiopia has a strategic location for global market.

With its untapped resources, the Minister said that the horn African country would be Vietnamese trade and manufacturing destination.

Vietnamese businesspersons are eager to utilize the existing potential Ethiopia has in the areas of energy, agro-processing, chemical manufacturing, telecom, fertilizers and agricultural modernizations.
