EPRDF Calls on All to Stand along Gov’t to Ensure Supremacy of Law

Addis Ababa The ruling party Ethiopian Peoples' Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) has urged its leadership and members as well as the people of Ethiopia to stand along the government in ensuring the supremacy of law.

The communique issued by the Office of EPRDF today follows the measure taken by the government to bring to justice alleged corrupt officials and perpetrators of atrocities in the country.

It is to be recalled that 63 suspects were put under detention by the government yesterday.

The communique noted that the measure taken against the suspects followed careful and long investigation to legally detain those who abused their power by ignoring the trust bestowed on them by the government and the people.

It further stressed that the organization will continue bringing individuals and accomplices engaged in social, economic and political acts that violate the objectives of the party to justice.

The Office underlined that such acts are not in the nature of the Ethiopian Peoples' Revolutionary Democratic Front.

According to the Office, the measures being taken by the government are consistent with the deep reform under implementation in the country.
