Addis Ready to Host 13th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day

Addis Ababa The Addis Ababa City Administration has finalized preparations to host the 13th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day that will be celebrated on Saturday December 8, 2018.

Briefing journalist today, City Administration Press Secretariat Head Feven Teshome said Addis Ababa is ready to receive the guests who come from all over the country.

The ceremony is expected to bring together about 30,000 Ethiopians, including Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed and high government officials as well as diplomats.

Addis Ababa is hosting the 13th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day at this special moment in the history of the country, she added.

Feven said: We are very happy to host this special event which makes at a time when the county has been carrying out broad reforms.

Various activities including a symposium, cultural show, and coffee ceremony, among others, will be held starting from tomorrow.

According to her, more than 10,000 people will be served in five hours time at a ceremony to be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Close to 1,500 representatives from each regional state are expected to attend the celebration.

It is to be recalled that Addis Ababa had hosted the First Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day in 2005.
